We were connected with a couple that lost everything due to Helene – their house, their barns and all of their belongings. As they saw the waters rise, they quickly went out to open the gates hoping that their mini donkeys and sheep would swim to higher ground, knowing that they sadly would probably never see them again. They had minutes before they and their 4 dogs had to find safety themselves. They literally watched their house and both barns get lifted from the foundation and carried into the river. They were completely devastated to see their life washed away, but even more so if their 4 legged babies didn’t survive. They heard loved animal crackers. The next day they shook a box of animal crackers and lone and behold, here came all of the donkeys and sheep 🩷. It was a MIRACLE 🥰. We are so thankful that they, their donkeys, sheep and dogs all are SURVIVORS 💖
This is where we need you!! Their animals are safe with a friend, but we need to help them building fencing so they can be reunited back together. Although they can’t rebuild on their land, they will be building on their grandpas land. They will be living in their camper until they can. Therefore, we need to help them get their animals with them! We need fencing and t posts- lots of it! Please donate if you can and indicate ‘Animal Donation’.
