What a day yesterday was! God was definitely in our midst. We finally got to meet The Baker family and with the help of The Betty Noble family, offloaded the load of furniture that we transported for them. Its a true honor to have the opportunity to be part of the Bakers home rebuild. We then went to The Mullins family home and saw all the hard work they have done over the past year. Its also going to be an honor to be able to provide them with materials, so they can complete their work and move back home. We also had a first interview with a family that had their house completely gutted due to the floods of July 2022. We will work with Breathitt County LTR to see how we can assist. Got to have a quaint pucnic with some of oyr KY families and friends to catch up and relax for a bit. It was very nice. Got to visit with “Rena and Doug” and had the privilege of visiting their new tiny home. Its very cozy and they just got power to it this week. We will be working with them to expand on that home in the next few months. It all takes lots of planning with a group of very dedicated people to make this all happen. Thanks to the Honorable Order of Kentucky Colonels, Bethel Church of Midland , H.E.A.R.T. 9/11 and many other sponsors for providing resources to make these projects happen. Long term recovery is just that. The process for many of these families takes very long. Its been over a year since the catastrophic flood and many people are not in their homes, and it could take several more years for many. If you are interested in helping us help such awesome families, please reach out either on fb or our website www.riseteam.org. #kentuckystrong
